The 'Owner' is an attribute of a Life Plan and is whoever you assign. If you are not using ‘owner’ then the column will be blank. Generally speaking, we think of owner as the person responsible for the plan. That is distinct from ‘Author’ who is the person who wrote the plan and may not be the same person as the one who is responsible.
If you look at the Life Plan details screen you will see a place for selecting the owner.
