Setting Up Referral Sources

Getting Started
There are two ways a referral source can be captured in imPowr:
- The client, their family member, or their case manager reaches out to an organization via paper, phone, email, or other direct contact – the referral identifies the source of the referral
- The client, their family member, or their case manager submits a web request and enters in the source of the referral
This document will focus on the workflow for case #1, where the process starts with direct contact with the Intake Staff.
Case #2, the web request process, is very similar except it starts with the client or their advocate entering their own information via a public facing web portal. That will be described in a separate document.
Overview of Steps Needed to Capture a Referral Source
When a referral starts with direct contact, the Intake Staff will perform these steps:
- Step 1: Click “New Client Intake” and following the steps to create a new client account (instructions provided in a separate document)
- Step 2: Enter the source of the referral into the “New Client Intake” form Marketing Panel
- Step 3: Complete the New Client Intake process
- Optional Step 4: Set up the source of the referral as an Organization in imPowr, so it can be made selectable as part of a future Intake process
The following pages show the details of how to perform Step 4 only.
