The following is what Continual Care Solutions can do for customers regading the backups of their data, particularly around what can be recovered.
We have an RPO (or Recovery Point Objective) of Point in time for 30 days
* This means we can get a database or file as it existed at a precise time for the 30 days leading up to “now”
We have an RTO (or Recovery Time Objective) of 48 hours
* This means if azure servers become unavailable, we would be able to have the last backups running elsewhere within two days
These mechanisms protect against risks in hardware and datacenter failure, or our operational failure, and give us options for business continuity
When a customer accidentally deletes data, we may be able to help
* Our backups guarantee us to “roll back” to a specific point in time
* “rolling back” to a point in time is rarely advisable in production
* we will make a reasonable effort to investigate
* there are no guarantees on partial recovery
Some things can improve the chances of recovery
* Provide the time exactly when the deletion happened
* Provide the CCID of the deleted entry
* The sooner we’re alerted, the more likely we’ll be able to identify the items
* The less activity since the accident, the less likely there will be conflicts preventing recovery
