How does the EVV Location Work

Article summary

On the “Work Queue” page, users record the completion of “supports”. When they do that, IMPOWR queries the browser for location.

At that point, the browser checks to see if location has been allowed by that computer. If yes, it gives IMPOWR the longitude and latitude.

If not, the browser prompts the user with something like “IMPOWR wants to know your location. Allow it?”

The user can then answer yes or no. We have found that many of the users have entered “no”. If they answer “no”, the browser tells IMPOWR “location denied” and then does not ask the user again.

That’s actually okay for most users – as only ones entering data for Comm Hab and Vocational services needs it (CPV).

In those cases, the user needs to go into their browser and manually allow IMPOWR to access their location.
